Thank you Letter to Miss Henrickson
May 27, 2011
Dear Miss Henrickson,
Although this letter is extremely late, I am writing to
thank you for all you have meant to me. I hope you are
well.
I have so many fond high school memories and many of
them come from being your student. You were an excellent
teacher but you taught me many things that were not in a
text book. Working in the office I saw you out of the
class probably more than other students. I saw your
gentleness and kindness. You always had a smile and a
kind word for me. This made me feel like I was doing a
good job and that you liked me. That was very important
to me. Your dignified and lady like manner never kept
you from casting a large shadow.
I’ve always thought that it took courage for you,
a tiny little lady, to travel on those Washington trips.
With all those wild kids and two towering men, you stood
your ground with equal authority. You were a wonderful
part of our life and we thank you for just being
you.
With much love,
Mary Lee McKinney Teaster
