The Pacolet River Flood Monument

(The following photographs were taken by Bob Johnson and are used with his kind permission.)

Monument site right beside the Hwy 29 bridge and the Pacolet River. The water level was about at the top of the column.

The monument from a slightly different angle. The Pacolet River is only a literal stones throw away behind the trees.

An explanatory plaque at the monument.

Close up of marker at the bottom of the monument.
